Best live versión Somebody to love!!!! This audio is part of a larger project of "remastering" the concert at the hammersmith odeon 12/26/1979, ó "concert for people the kampuchea" ó "hammy 1979", is still in beta, so ask the opinions of as being the result. The reason for this project is as follows; always been known to "Montreal", the "Wembley" or "At the bowl", but without detracting from this, I must say that the best performances were from this period (1979 - 1980) and above mentioned, in this specific tour, "crazy tour, Freddie could easily reach and even C5 C # 5. Nevertheless, this tour does not have any source of audio quality, and console the only source available, is obtained from vhs, with distortion and noise, which makes their quality is quite low. Which I find inconceivable, considering that this was the best tour away from Queen. Therefore, mention my discomfort with QPR, and who have not deigned to release a version of this legendary concert quality, and a way to do this is by demonstrating that even without the master tracks, you can create something of quality of VHS, as I show now. Enjoy:

About This Footage

The Hammersmith Odeon in 1979 was a crucible for Queen's live performances. Freddie Mercury's vocals soared, Brian May's guitar work was precision-crafted, and Roger Taylor's drums pulsed with energy. This footage of "Somebody to Love" is a testament to the band's electrifying stage presence during this period.

Darby Slick's original composition had already been recorded by Jefferson Airplane, but Queen's rendition would become an iconic staple in their live shows. Rolling Stone magazine ranked Jefferson Airplane's version No. 274 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, but it was Queen who brought a new level of intensity to the song.

The Hammersmith Odeon concert on December 26, 1979, was part of the "Crazy Tour," which marked one of Queen's most innovative and experimental periods. The band had just released their album "Jazz," and were pushing the boundaries of rock music with complex arrangements and extended instrumental passages.

The audio quality in this footage is far from perfect – it's a VHS transfer, plagued by distortion and noise. Yet, despite these technical limitations, the energy and passion of Queen's performance shines through. This clip is a rare glimpse into one of the band's most remarkable live shows, and serves as a reminder that even with subpar audio quality, the essence of their music remains intact.

The fact that this footage has been remastered from VHS is a testament to the dedication of the person behind this project. The goal is to preserve and elevate the audio quality of this concert, which was one of Queen's best tours away from home. It's a labor of love, driven by a desire to share the band's music with a wider audience.

Watching this clip, viewers will be struck by Freddie Mercury's vocal range and control. He effortlessly navigates the song's complex harmonies, his voice soaring on the iconic "Oh, cannot escape..." refrain. The rest of the band is equally impressive, with Brian May's guitar work providing a dynamic counterpoint to Roger Taylor's driving drums.

This footage is significant not only because it captures Queen at the height of their live powers but also because it highlights the challenges of preserving and restoring audio quality from VHS sources. Despite these limitations, the energy and emotion of the performance shines through, making this clip an essential watch for fans of Queen and live music enthusiasts alike.

The "Crazy Tour" was a pivotal moment in Queen's career, marking a transition towards more experimental and avant-garde sounds. This footage of "Somebody to Love" serves as a reminder of the band's innovative spirit and their ability to elevate even the most familiar songs into something new and exciting.

As the song builds towards its climax, Freddie Mercury's voice becomes increasingly raw and emotive, conveying the sense of urgency and passion that defined Queen's live performances. This clip is a testament to the enduring power of Queen's music, which continues to inspire and captivate audiences around the world.

The image of Freddie Mercury standing at the microphone, his eyes closed in concentration as he pours his heart and soul into "Somebody to Love," is an unforgettable one. It's a moment that captures the essence of Queen's live performances – a perfect blend of music, energy, and emotion that continues to inspire and thrill audiences to this day.

The fact that this footage has been preserved and shared with the world is a testament to the dedication of fans and enthusiasts who continue to celebrate Queen's music. This clip is a rare gem, offering a glimpse into one of the band's most remarkable live shows – a true treasure for anyone who loves Queen or live music in general.
