Having Lunch with Jamaaladeen Tacuma in Porto, Portugal 2017
Amazing gourmet food court in Porto , Portugal. I happen to be having a beautiful vegetarian lunch when the Gladys Knight and the Pips record came on “ Midnight Train To Georgia” funny thing is I just Rehearsed this song with drummer Steve Jordan and guitarist producer Ray Parker jr. preparing for ac performance at The Jazz Loft for the Jazz Foundation’s annual fundraiser. The food court contained all types of delicious foods and baked items. I would do it again.
About Jamaaladeen Tacuma
Jamaaladeen Tacuma (born Rudy McDaniel; June 11, 1956) is an American jazz funk avant-garde bassist, composer and producer born in Hempstead, New York. He was a bandleader on the Gramavision label and worked with Ornette Coleman during the 1970s and 1980s, mostly in Coleman's Prime Time band. Tacuma showcased a unique style of avant-garde jazz on Coleman's 1982 album Of Human Feelings, and became widely viewed as one of the most distinctive bassists since Jaco Pastorius.
