Bob Dylan & Joan Baez - Wild Mountain Thyme (Savoy Hotel 1965 RARE)
This is my favorite Dylan-Baez duet, and there are a lot to choose from. The innocent modesty and melodic passion of this off the cuff hotel room performance gives me goosebumps. This is the only known recording, unfortunately, of them performing this beautiful Scottish folk song, but it makes it that much more special. This was recorded at the Savoy Hotel in London on May 4, 1965 for the documentary Don't Look Back. A small portion of this track was included in the final cut for the documentary, but the unedited original has only been released on The Bootleg Series Vol, 12: The Cutting Edge 1965-1966 Collector's Edition, which was only limited to 5,000 copies and will never be released again. Enjoy this gem while you can!
