King of America is a 1986 album by British rock singer and songwriter Elvis Costello. It was recorded mostly with American session musicians, and marked a shift from his previous new wave and punk rock style to a more acoustic, folk-rock and country-influenced sound. The album features some of his most personal and introspective songs, such as “Indoor Fireworks”, “Brilliant Mistake” and “I’ll Wear It Proudly”.
