COUNTRY LINE SPECIAL (Davies) ‘Pop Go The Beatles’ episode 11; broadcast: 27 Aug, 1963 Recorded at the Playhouse Theatre, Manchester; 1 Aug, 1963 Cyril Davies R&B All-Stars were featured guests, at the request of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, on the Beatles BBC radio series. Lennon's harmonica solo on 'Little Child' was reportedly influenced by Davies. The Beatles became friendly with Long John back in 1959 when he played the Cavern with various Trad Jazz groups he'd travel with. In 1964 Baldry would feature on the TV-special, 'Around the Beatles'.
