The German Bonds - We are out of Side (1966)

"THE GERMAN BONDS" established their popularity in Hamburg's STAR CLUB. The first line-up, in which records were recorded, consisted of Dieter Horns (b), Rainer Degner (git), Peter Hecht or) and Peet Becker (dr) *) (Note: For correction see the various recordings. Band line-ups on the link "Center of Beat"! Peter Hecht had had classical lessons and so they were also one of the first bands who had rocked classical pieces (Moonlight Sonata or Sonata Facile) in their repertoire. They had played the Hollies and the Pretty Things under the table, but still they could never really establish themselves. Especially because the records did not represent what they could do live. Brilliance on stage, mediocrity in the studio. The records were boring, except for "Are out of sight". The backside "Sing Hallelujah" even beats the REMO 4 version. As a disadvantage, you might say that they never got support from the music magazines. I have leafed through them all (MP, OK, Star Club News, etc) and found only 2 color, and 2 to 3 black and white photos. They stayed together from 64 - about 67, when Degner and Becker changed to the 5th cast of the RATTLES. They got 3 new ones. As first singer, for a few concerts only because they had contracts, Frank Dostal stepped in. Dostal left and they got a permanent lead singer. I saw them live with Dostal and they were great. They played rock versions of old Tom Jones songs and Dostal sang them with brilliance. Pike and Horn reappeared in LUCIFER'S FRIEND, then played with James Last and now they've rebuilt LUCIFER'S FRIEND".
