Stephen Fearing & Linda Manzer -- The 30 Year Cowpoke

Multi-JUNO winner Stephen Fearing (co-founder of Blackie and The Rodeo Kings) and world-renowned Canadian luthier Linda Manzer (Pat Metheny, Gordon Lightfoot, Carlos Santana, Bruce Cockburn, and Liona Boyd) present The 30 Year Cowpoke -- celebrating the legacy of Stephen’s 30-year-old Manzer Cowpoke acoustic guitar and delving into the artistry behind the two-year process of creating its replacement. Show host: Tom Allen. Different from a standard concert format, this 90-minute show features a combination of memories, music, and guitar making demonstrations. Aficionados of the finest custom guitars are in for a rare treat as Manzer discusses the meticulous design and hand-crafting process for the 1989 original Cowpoke and its 2019 counterpart. Beloved for his on-stage storytelling, Fearing shares the poignant tale of how a chance meeting with a fan led to a series of events that, after the fan’s death, forced Stephen to make a difficult decision that resulted in the creation of his new Cowpoke. The 30 Year Cowpoke live stream is an adaptation of the original stage event and presented as part of the National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts #CanadaPerforms series, in partnership with Facebook Canada, Slaight Music, RBC, and SiriusXM Canada.
