“The Hangman’s Reel”, composed by Dave Swarbrick, was specifically recorded by Fairport Convention for the BBC Radio programme “Folk on One”. The performance was broadcast on Sunday, 26 July 1970, produced by Francis Lane. It was included on a track on the group’s 20th compilation “Live at the BBC” (UMG/Hip-O B0018PFY10), a four-disc boxed-set anthology of recordings made for various BBC radio programmes between 1967 and 1974, issued on 16 April 2007.
