🎶💛 The Neville Brothers—Soulful Bloodline of New Orleans 🎷🌟 From the heart of New Orleans, the Neville Brothers created a family legacy of music that spanned R&B, funk, soul, and jazz. Together and individually, they left an indelible mark on American music, deeply rooted in Creole culture, gospel, and the rhythms of the Crescent City. 🎤✨ Aaron Neville Born: January 24, 1941, New Orleans, Louisiana Known for his angelic, vibrato-rich falsetto, Aaron broke through with hits like “Tell It Like It Is” and later duets like “Don’t Know Much” with Linda Ronstadt. He had a successful solo career and performed with his brothers as lead vocalist in The Neville Brothers band. Aaron announced his retirement from touring in 2021. As of 2025, he is 84 years old and enjoying a peaceful life with his family. 💙🎤 🎷🕊️ Charles Neville Born: December 28, 1938 Charles was the group’s saxophonist, known for his smooth, jazzy style and spiritual presence. He brought a strong jazz and funk flavor to the band. He passed away on April 26, 2018, from pancreatic cancer, at the age of 79. His soulful saxophone still echoes in the world of jazz. 🎷🌹 🎹🕊️ Art Neville Born: December 17, 1937 The eldest brother, Art, founded the funk band The Meters before joining his siblings to form The Neville Brothers. He played keyboards and provided gritty vocals. Known as "Poppa Funk," Art was a New Orleans music pioneer. He retired in 2018 due to declining health and passed away on July 22, 2019, at the age of 81. 🕊️🎹 🥁🔥 Cyril Neville Born: October 10, 1948 The youngest brother, Cyril, was the percussionist and vocally powerful lyricist, also involved in activism and poetry. He joined The Meters in the '70s and became a key voice in The Neville Brothers. As of 2025, Cyril is 76 years old, and though mostly retired, he occasionally appears for special performances and community events. 🥁✊ 💫 Together, they represented the rhythm, struggle, spirit, and love of New Orleans — and beyond. The Neville Brothers weren’t just a band — they were a movement of family, funk, and faith. 💫 #NevilleBrothers #AaronNeville #CyrilNeville #ArtNeville #CharlesNeville #NewOrleansMusic #NOLAIcons #FunkLegends #SoulBrothers #TheMeters #TellItLikeItIs #PoppaFunk #JazzSax #PercussionPower #CreoleSoul #AmericanMusicLegends #FamilyOfFunk #SoulMusic #RNBIcons #PancreaticCancerAwareness #MusicalLegacy #ClassicFunk #GospelRoots #NevilleStrong #CrescentCitySound #MusicHistory #NOLAFunk #JazzHeritage #FunkRoyalty #LegendaryBrothers #history #singer #viralvideo #shorts
