Details of the song and tunes are given below. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Under their banner 'Forward with Scotland's Past', Battlefield Band have been performing on the international scene for four decades, inspired by their rich heritage of Celtic music and fired by the strength of the modern Scottish cultural scene. 2011 is an important year for the group as they introduce their latest recruit: Ewen Henderson; a superb young multi-instrumentalist & Gaelic singer from the famously musical Lochaber family, who has been naturally steeped in traditional music, Gaelic language and culture. Now in his early twenties, he has had the privilege of being taught bagpipes & fiddle by many of the true masters of Scottish West Highland traditional music and being influenced by his strong family musical heritage. Ewen is superbly talented, and has quickly established himself as a strong musical force within the band, who look forward to playing with him and to introducing another great musician to their worldwide audience ABOUT THE SONG & TUNES A' Bhriogais Uallach translates as 'The Pompous Trousers' and this the first time the group have recorded a song in Gaelic. Ewen Henderson, 'the new boy' of the band, sings the main vocal here, with the rest of the band on backing vocals. The Waves of Otur; a Mike Katz composition, follows the song. Mike has always been keen on surfing and this particular tune was inspired by an incredible beach in Asturias Split The Whisker; a traditional tune is the last one in the set.
