New York, c. November 10, 1923 – OKEH 40006 – Mx. 72040-B. Lorenzo Tio sr. and jr. , Alphonse Picou and George Baquet, New Orleans master clarinetists, were the teachers of many of the New Orleans great clarinetists as Louis ''Big Eye'' Nelson, Sidney Bechet, Johnny Dodds, Jimmie Noone, Barney Bigard, Omer Simeon, Edmond Hall, Albert Nicholas, and of the four masters only George Baquet and Lorenzo Tio jr. recorded in 1920s. Sidney Bechet, one of the three greatest pupils together with Jimme Noone and Johnny Dodds, started playing clarinet, performing with many great musicians of New Orleans, as Freddy Keppard, Bunk Johnson, King Oliver and he made his first recordings in 1923-1925 with Clarence Williams' Blue Five , playing prevalently and definitively the soprano sax.
