Fact: There is not a kinder human being on the planet than the great Del McCoury. And for more than 50 years he's proudly carried the torch for real, hard core bluegrass. A member of the International Bluegrass Hall of Fame, McCoury was first bitten by the sound of a banjo. But he later took up guitar when he was asked to join Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys in 1963. Since then, McCoury has cemented himself as one of the most important names in not just the genre, but American music history.
