KPTV's High Time - Studio Outtakes (1958, MI# 09905)

Buddy Holly
1950s1958StudioBehind the ScenesLive

Shot on location at KPTV by Frank and George Hood, High Time was Portland's first music show for teenagers and was hosted by Gene Brendler. The program was aired live from the studio each week. No known footage of the actual broadcasts is known to exist but this footage, on 16mm, was shot "behind the scenes" and includes crowd shots along with brief interviews with musical guests Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Knox, Paul Anka and Frankie Lymon. Unrelated Elvis is spliced to the end of the reel - possibly ca. 1956 - and is credited to the Mississippi United Press. Actual location unknown. **Please note: the footage is raw and unedited and the sound quality is quite poor.** From the Oregon Historical Society - George Hood Film Collection, MI# 09905. For educational/reference use only.
