Eyeless in Gaza - Footage of Spring Road Trip from San Francisco to Ozarks

R.E.M.
Rareyoutube

Scenic Footage of my Spring road trip with my original instrumental 'Carpathian Spring' as soundtrack. More shameless self-promotion: Tune is available on iTunes, Amazon, etc. Footage includes: Sunrise in Shamrock, TX, snow in Springfield, MO, James and Finley Rivers MO, Table Rock Lake MO, Fayetteville, Ark., Eureka Springs, Ark, Moab, UT, Arches Nat Park, Canyon Lands Nat Park, Bryce Canyon Nat Park, Zion Nat Park, Death Valley, Altamont Pass, CA, approaching San Francisco, and my North Beach neighborhood. I started on this Spring time trip a fresh young Philistine heading towards America's heartland along the old Route 66 path where I faced snow, extreme heat, driving and drenching rains, blinding winds, hail, and tornado warnings, and returned thru the desert, like Charlton Heston's Moses in 'The 10 Commandments' after hearing the voice of God, seared, grizzled, and wizardly, my temples graying, with piercing eyes overwhelmed by the overload of nature's wrath and beauty, pointed and leaning forward, arms and legs akimbo, and yes, dragging my canoe behind me.

In the early 1990s, other alternative rock acts suc...
