In a line at a Tim Horton's (our official bathroom), I asked a man about what his shirt was all about. He explained to me that he was in a choir. We went our separate ways. Later we spotted him and other shirt-wearers in a parking lot. I awkwardly approached them with my camera and asked for an impromptu performance. Instead they invited us to the old unused historical church they were rehearsing in. We drove there, and at first were unsure if we would be able to film, as some of the players at the rehearsal were unionized Nova Scotia Orchestra players. Luckily the composer and conductor were amazingly kind and allowed us to capture this run through on camera. This is just a rough edit of the footage that I threw together last night at a B&B, and it truly does not do the experience justice. This old church, how it sounded, and the composition & performance were absolutely the highlight of the trip for me thus far. A composer is a person who writes music. The term is especially used to indicate composers of Western classical music, or those who are composers by occupation. Many composers are, or were, also skilled performers of music.
