About Edith North Johnson

American blues singer, born January 2, 1903 in St. Louis, Missouri, died February 28, 1988 in the same city. Wife of [a3124015]. Johnson recorded for QRS, Paramount, OKeh and Vocalion in 1928-1929. She was again recorded by Sam Charters in 1961; these recordings were intended for release on Bluesville, but were not released until 1984 on [r8717108].
