At the time, Weiland was on tour with Stone Temple Pilots, one of the most iconic rock bands of the 1990s, and had just released his second solo album, "Happy in Galoshes". But beneath the surface, Weiland's struggles with substance abuse were escalating, a fact that would become all too apparent in the months to come.

This interview is notable not only because it was one of Weiland's last public appearances but also because it offers a rare glimpse into his thoughts and feelings during this tumultuous period. Weiland's struggles with addiction had been well-documented over the years, but this interview suggests that he was still grappling with the consequences of his actions. His responses are often hesitant and guarded, as if he is aware that he is being watched and judged. The tension between his desire for honesty and his need to present a façade is palpable, making for uncomfortable viewing.
