Roy Milton & Orchestra - Come Home When You're Thru - [DirectVinylTransfer] - South Central Soul/R&B
**Not my property/not for-profit.** Cenco Records 109 - Roy Milton was born in Wynnewood, OK in 1907 and moved to Los Angeles in 1933. Here, Milton set up his own record label, Roy Milton Record Co., based out of a home at 3438 6th Avenue in Jefferson Park. Through this label, he released works by his band Roy Milton and His Solid Slenders as wells as those by other local acts. His music also helped boost the prominence of Art Rupe's Specialty label. In 1950, Milton & Orchestra performed at Sixth Cavalcade of Jazz convert, held at the long-gone Wrigley Stadium in South Central, which was attended by 16,000 people. At this show, he shared the stage with Lionel Hampton, Pee Wee Crayton, Dinah Washington, and Tiny Davis & Her Hell Divers. Throughout his career, Milton would record nineteen Top Ten hits. Milton passed away in 1983. **This is a direct vinyl transfer, straight from the platter to the line-in on my Tascam digital recorder, saved as a 24-bit .WAV file, and synced to the video.** Always #ortofon
