Seven Mary Three
AcousticRareyoutube

I know its been awhile. I apologize for that. I've been working on an original acoustic EP with the boys over at Tha Bakery Music. It's set to be out in a couple months so stay tuned for more details! Anyway, this is my attempt at a cover requested by Tyler Montgomery. He wanted me to give "Water's Edge" by Seven Mary Three. So, here you go man - hope I did it justice. Keep suggesting covers for each session and I'll work through them and shout you out! Thanks for all of the support. - Kyle

About This Footage

In a rare glimpse into the creative process, Seven Mary Three's "Sunday Morning Sessions #7" footage is a treasure trove of acoustic intimacy. Filmed in an informal setting, this 3:58 clip showcases the band's ability to strip down their sound to its essence. At the time of filming, Seven Mary Three was riding high on the success of their hit single "Cumbersome", which had catapulted them into the mainstream spotlight.

The band's decision to release acoustic sessions like these is a testament to their commitment to exploring new sounds and pushing the boundaries of their music. In an era where production values were increasingly prioritized over raw talent, Seven Mary Three's willingness to bare their souls in these stripped-down performances stands out as a refreshing anomaly. This particular clip, featuring a haunting rendition of "Water's Edge", is all the more remarkable for its rarity.

One of the most striking aspects of this footage is the setting itself. The dimly lit room, with its warm tones and makeshift instruments, creates an atmosphere that's both cozy and contemplative. It's as if the viewer has stumbled upon a private jam session, one that's been carefully curated to showcase the band's vulnerability and creativity. Kyle, the lead vocalist, is seen strumming the chords with a quiet intensity, his voice soaring on the verses like a gentle breeze on a summer day.

What makes this clip significant is its unique blend of artistry and informality. Unlike polished music videos or slickly produced live performances, these Sunday Morning Sessions are raw, unbridled expressions of the band's musicality. They're a reminder that even in the midst of commercial success, artists can still choose to stay true to their creative vision, rather than sacrificing it for the sake of mass appeal.

As a viewer watches this clip, they'll likely be struck by the sense of connection that permeates every note and every strummed chord. It's as if Seven Mary Three is sharing a secret with the audience, one that's both intimate and universal at the same time. The band's ability to convey emotion through their music is on full display here, making "Sunday Morning Sessions #7" an unforgettable experience.

In an era where music has become increasingly homogenized, this clip serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of authenticity in artistry. Seven Mary Three's willingness to take risks and push boundaries is a testament to their commitment to their craft, one that will continue to inspire fans for years to come. As Kyle mentions in his YouTube description, these sessions are just the beginning – stay tuned for more details on the original acoustic EP he's working on with Tha Bakery Music.

The final shot of this clip lingers long after the music has faded away, a haunting image that stays with the viewer like a ghostly whisper. It's Kyle's voice, barely audible over the soft strumming of the guitar, as he whispers "Water's Edge" into the microphone. The words hang in the air like a promise, a reminder of the beauty and vulnerability that lies at the heart of this music.
