Academy Of Tone #56: Home recording part 2 – Thomas’s top recording/mixing tips and tricks PLUS legendary live club: Colos-Saal, Aschaffenburg! On this week’s Academy Of Tone, Thomas and Rich are back on the home recording theme we started last episode! Thomas will start with a summary of the basic guitar recording methods we discussed last week: recording AMP1 with mics, the Direct Out, and the BluBOX/IR loaders. He’ll also give a brief introduction to another studio method: reamping. This technique involves recording a dry guitar signal for a track which you can then play back (or ‘reamp’) through other studio gear like plugins or real amps. We’ll be doing a full episode focusing on reamping in the not-too-distant future, so stay tuned for that as well! Next up, we’ll all crowd round Thomas’s laptop to dive into his own personal recording and mixing processes! Thomas recently played guest guitar on a song all about his hometown, more specifically the Nauwieser Viertel quarter in Saarbrücken, Germany. Thomas recorded the guitar parts using his AMP1, which went straight into a BluBOX, which went straight into his laptop… and the parts are all still on his laptop! We’ll look at the individual tracks and Thomas will explain his thoughts behind recording in this way, and he’ll discuss the various mixing tips you can use for projects like this yourselves. Topics here will include frequencies and dynamics, and the creative use of EQ, compression and Magneto, as well as the idea of spreading the mix on the guitars so the instrument fits and ‘sinks’ neatly into the final track perfectly. And, when it comes to the actual recording part, Thomas will talk about double tracking, panning, and making guitar parts sound as good as they possibly can! We’ll also quickly look at the effects you can add to the guitar track in post-production, including Thomas’s favorites: Eventide chorus pitch (80s) Ursache Major Space Station Delays (also back) Reverb (plate EMT) Room, hall Finally, there’s a super cool interview with the legendary German gig promoter and venue owner Claus Berninger! Claus is the man behind the iconic Colos-Saal venue in Aschaffenburg, Germany, where many of the world’s biggest bands and artists come to perform in the days before they play the local arenas… and, on Thursday May 20, Thomas is playing there! That’s right, Thomas Blug’s Rock Anarchie is playing its first show in ages this week (more info here: https://colos-saal.de/komplettes-programm/programm-nach-genres/classicrock-hardrock/thomas-blugs-rockanarchie-zweiter-nachholtermin.html). Thomas will ask Claus about his decades of experience in the music business, his coolest rock ‘n’ roll stories, the colorful history of the Colos-Saal, how it’s been as a venue promoter during the CO _________________________________________________ Get your AMP1 MERCURY EDITION and IRIDIUM EDITION with 3 YEARS WARRANTY and FREE SHIPPING (within EU): https://bluguitar.com/produkte/amp1/ _________________________________________________ BluGuitar's Cabinet brochure & manual: https://bluguitar.com/media/pdf/bc/23/0c/bluguitar-manual_cabs_complete.pdf _________________________________________________ The new "Academy of Tone" SHIRTs are finally available in our webshop:-) Get yours here: https://bluguitar.com/produkte/merchandise/ AMP1 MODS: Get them from your dealer or directly here at BluGuitar.com NANOCAB - is the smallest 1x12 with the biggest sound available today! 60 watts, 8 Ohm, 1x12“ BG12-C, only 8kg, 1 x Mono In, 1x Parallel Out, 1x Serial Out (6.3mm jack) https://bluguitar.com/produkte/cabinets/nanocab VINTAGE SPEAKER CABLE , long (5,67m): https://bluguitar.com/produkte/accessories/speaker-cable/ EASY LOCKS: https://bluguitar.com/produkte/accessories/easy-locks MIDI1 ADAPTER: https://bluguitar.com/produkte/accessories/midi1 ________________________________________________ AMP1 "PRESETS": Sound settings and overlays for your MERCURY & IRIDIUM EDITION: https://bluguitar.com/service-support/downloads/ AMP1 "EXPERT FEATURES" website: https://bluguitar.com/me-ir-expert/ "ACADEMY OF TONE"-BROCHURE, incl. About Sine

In mathematics, sine and cosine are trigonometric functions of an angle. The sine and cosine of an acute angle are defined in the context of a right triangle: for the specified angle, its sine is the ratio of the length of the side opposite that angle to the length of the longest side of the triangle (the hypotenuse), and the cosine is the ratio of the length of the adjacent leg to that of the hypotenuse. For an angle θ {\displaystyle \theta } , the sin...
