Jack Warner
Jack Warner will forever be remembered in his TV role of 'Dixon Of Dock Green', but his early rise to stardom was as a Radio star, first on the wartime 'Garrison Theatre' and later as Joe Huggett in the long running series 'Meet The Huggetts' - the family which itself had first been created for a series of films starring Jack Warner and Kathleen Harrison, with supporting roles for Petula Clark and Diana Dors. Here is Jack on stage in 1979, reflecting on his long career and re-working some of the songs and monologues that were such an important part of his act through the years.
About Dock Green
Dixon of Dock Green is a BBC police procedural television series about daily life at a fictional London police station, with the emphasis on petty crime, successfully controlled through common sense and human understanding. It ran from 1955 to 1976. The central character, George Dixon, first appeared in the film The Blue Lamp (1950).
