Members of Gurt Lush Choir and Bristol Man Chorus come together for a surprise virtual performance of an old favourite 'Moon River' to say 'thank you' to our brilliant musical director Sam Burns and our choir manager Adel Burns. We've shared so many musical adventures, laughter and sheer joy over the last 10 years. This video is powered by love - have a wonderful year in France, Sam and Adel, au revoir and come back soon! MOON RIVER (from the film Breakfast at Tiffany's) By Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer, arranged by Wendy Sergeant Video maestro (sound/video mixing and editing): Charlie Marshall Video co-ordination, choir and editing support:¬ Nicola Harwin and Rebecca Pearson 98 singers from Gurt Lush Choir and Bristol Man Chorus filmed themselves at home during the Coronavirus 2020 pandemic lockdown. Thanks to all the choir members who were able to join in, to everyone who donated to make this happen, and to all those who wished us well even though they were not able to be part of this. 2020 has left singers and choirs everywhere bereft at the loss of live communal singing. One day we will all be back singing 'live' together. The Lush performed regularly to sell-out crowds at a variety of prominent Bristol venues. We have taken part in national and international choir festivals. In 2018, Gurt Lush and BMC debuted a unique suite of 20 songs commemorating the centenary of the end of the First World War – culminating in a special performance on Armistice Day at Bristol Museum. We have a track record of innovative collaborations and have worked on many joint projects with composers, musicians and theatrical venues. We regularly enjoy street busking, carol singing and charity performances of all kinds and regularly collaborate with other choirs.
