Here's a bit of ex-Mandragora and Hawkwind bassist Niall Hone's new band Lords of Form live at Sonic Rock Solstice 2022. Enjoy... Lords of Form are: Niall Hone, Ross Fuller & Jamie Gillett. https://www.facebook.com/lordsofform https://lordsofform.bandcamp.com/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/sonicrockcadets (Interview from The Brighton Magazine) During his time with Hawkwind he'd been writing a lot of material, originally intended for a solo album but a band organically grew from serendipitous circumstances. "I had the name Lords of Form since 2011 I think, I was putting the album together and, on the back of that, I was getting a band together which was a separate project. As time went by it became very apparent that the 2 should become 1. "So, I kind of merged my solo project with the band and we put out our first record in early February. "After a few trials and errors the band has settled down to myself, Ross Fuller on guitar and Jamie Gillit on drums so it's a 3 piece band with a lot of electronics on stage. Two of us play synths as well. I basically use the technology and the techniques that I developed in Hawkwind and brought them forward into this new band. "I've always liked aggressive music, it's kind of quite punky and a kind of Prodigy-aggression which runs throughout all of the tracks. "So, the attitude is definitely aggressive but the genres [of influences] range from ambient through to really f*****g heavy. "Some of the tracks have extended improvised sections which differ every night. It's a real mishmash of psyche-rock, bits of prog rock and a lot of ambient stuff. "I'm really into using the element of surprise in my music, it will suddenly drop from a pin drop synthesiser into the heaviest drum beat going. I like to surprise the listener and take them on a journey"
