🎙️ The Story Behind “It Won’t Do” This haunting jazz recording comes from a lost acetate disc discovered at a local flea market inside an unmarked paper sleeve. The surface was covered in dust and scratches — nearly unplayable — but something about it felt special. After careful cleaning and restoration, the faint grooves revealed a heart-stirring female vocal performance accompanied by a small jazz combo. There were no notes, no labels, and no clue who the singer or musicians were — only the title handwritten in pencil: “It Won’t Do.” What you hear now is the first-ever digital restoration of this forgotten moment in time — a fragile voice from the 1940s brought back to life after more than 80 years of silence. A piece of jazz history, once lost… now rediscovered.
