Tina Pilione Previews Her Workshop at FHO Nov 4-7, 2021

It's great to have Tina Pilione, a fine traditional Cajun fiddler, at Fiddle Hell Online in November! From her workshop description: "Here's a rare chance to learn the old style of Cajun fiddling! Tina Pilione will teach one of the great old-style tunes she learned from Rodney Fontenot, and will help you to play the bowings, slides, double stops, and other techniques that make it come alive in the older tradition. Living in Eunice, Louisiana, where lies the heart of traditional Cajun music, gave Tina Pilione plenty of opportunities to study with two of the finest fiddlers in the area: Dennis McGee, in his 90s at the time; and Wade Frugé, in his 70s at the time. Later on, Tina met Rodney Fontenot, who at the age of 14 began learning the music of Dennis McGee, who lived across the road from Rodney's family."
