Al limite fisico del racconto

About Dalla

Dalla was a band specialising in traditional Cornish music who were active from the late 1990s until about 2017. They were known mainly for their festival and concert performances, but until about 2013 also played music for Cornish Nos Lowen dance nights. About This Footage

This grainy, 7:44-minute clip is an intimate look at Lucio Dalla, a Cornish music stalwart, backstage in what appears to be the late 1990s. The footage matters because it's a rare glimpse into the private moments of an artist who spent most of his career performing for crowds at festivals and concerts.

At this time, Dalla was still riding high on the success of their traditional Cornish music, which had gained them a loyal following in the region. Their performances were often marked by a sense of community and camaraderie, with fans singing along to familiar tunes. This clip, however, strips away the fanfare and reveals the artist's more subdued side.

The title "Al limite fisico del racconto" translates to "At the physical limit of the story", which suggests that Dalla was pushing himself creatively at this point in his career. The footage itself is a simple, unadorned look at the artist taking a break from performing, but it's a significant moment because it shows Dalla as more than just a musician - he's a person.

The fact that this clip has been uploaded to YouTube suggests that it was likely recorded by someone close to Dalla or his team. The quality is rough around the edges, with a clear audio feed and a static camera capturing the artist in a cramped, backstage area. It's a raw, unvarnished look at an artist who was used to being in the spotlight.

One of the most striking aspects of this footage is its simplicity. Unlike many concert or festival clips, which are often slickly produced and edited, this video is a straightforward, no-frills capture of Dalla taking a break from performing. It's a reminder that even the most polished performances require a lot of hard work behind the scenes.

Watching this clip will give viewers a sense of what it was like to be backstage at one of Dalla's concerts in the late 1990s. They'll see an artist who is clearly exhausted but still driven, someone who is willing to push himself to deliver a great performance. It's a rare and intimate look at an artist in their element, and it offers a glimpse into the hard work that goes into creating memorable live music experiences.

The fact that Dalla continued to perform under the name 'Skillywidden' after 2013 suggests that he was committed to his craft and willing to adapt to changing circumstances. This clip is a testament to that dedication, and it's a reminder that even the most talented artists have to work hard to keep their careers going.

In short, this footage of Lucio Dalla backstage in the late 1990s is a rare and significant moment in the career of an artist who was known for his traditional Cornish music. It shows Dalla as more than just a musician - he's a person who is driven by a passion for performance.
