A version of the song was recorded in 1975 by jazz fusion group The Manhattan Transfer for their debut album The Manhattan Transfer, which led a revival of the doo-wop and jazz styles also performed by The Modernaires, The Passions, Vito & The Salutations, Earl Lewis & The Channels, Reminisce, Kenny Vance & The Planotones, The Legends of Doo-Wop, & Larry Chance & The Earls. The original Chaperones(often billed as one of the first American street corner harmony doo wop groups) formed in the late 1950's in Farmingdale Village, Long Island(New York State). The original members of the group consisted of Nick Salvato, Tony Amato, Roy Marchesano, Dave Kelly & Tommy Ronca. The original group is probably best known for their Josie Records recording of "Cruise To Moon" which was released in 1960 with major accolades! With this playlist we honor not only the original Chaperones, but all extended members who helped to make The Chaperones History a huge success, and helped to keep the memory of this group alive and current! Some of The Chaperone songs(originals) we have re-recorded and performed live with original member "Nick Salvato" include "Cruise To The Moon", "Man From The Moon", "Shining Star", "My Shadow And Me", "Blueberry Sweet" and many more.
