YeaNah video diary - PIYN 2012
What happens when you give a room full of creative folk just three days and some inspiration from a couple of UK legends? The answer, Yea Nah. The British Council asked this question when they invited Ian Swift (aka Swifty), the "Godfather of the Sampling Generation", and Paul Bradshaw, the man behind the iconic London magazine Straight No Chaser, to New Zealand to lead a three day workshop as part of the PIYN project, and as a side-event for Semi-Permanent 2012. The brief was to step away from the computer, explore fanzine production and put together a unique snapshot of NZ cultural expression involving writers, photographers, artists, designers, typesetters and more. The call was answered by an eclectic group of enthusiasts who from day one threw themselves into the intensive project. Forced to get close quickly, it all began with everyone cramming into a small (read: slightly too small for comfort) glass room in the Biz Dojo to dream-up the idea that would lead the journey for the next three days. http://piyn.net/news/yea-nah/
