In June 2008, The Michito Sanchez Salsa Orchestra won “Best Salsa Performer” in the 1st Annual Las Vegas Latin Music Awards, proving that the band has a World Class sound and attitude. Later that year Arman Bolidian, President and CEO of Westbound Records, just happened to be staying at the South Point Hotel and Casino when he came into the showroom and saw the band. Bolidian was so impressed that 2 months later signed Michito to his first record deal. Soon after Michito took the band to Los Angeles to record their first CD entitled Atencion which is the title track that he wrote with his old friend Rudy Regalado. Meanwhile, Michito always in demand for recording sessions and side work for the top artist in the music industry kept a very busy schedule from 2008- to the present. Performing and recording with such artist as, 3 Doors Down, Daughtry, Marcus Miller, Caetano Veloso, John Mayer, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Poncho Sanchez, Arturo Sandoval, Michael Buble, Talia, Apocalyptica, Train and Greg Rollies. His plate is full, but he never complains about too much work — it’s what makes him tick. “As long as I am playing music, I am happy,” he says.
