Fred Small and Betsy Rose- Singing together! October 13, 2022

A very special event-Fred Small and Betsy, Rose, with original songs from their past and present repertoires. Fred is known as a master musical storyteller, with songs like Everything Possible, and The Heart of the Appaloosa etched into the collective memories of progressive folks from the 70's to the present.The evening ranges from rousing singalongs, to lullabies, and all else in between. Betsy and Fred were part of the burgeoning progressive/political sing movement of the 70's and 80's, and are old friends and musical colleagues. Betsy sings her rousing acapella song "It's Over, inspired by the Me Too movement, but dedicated this evening to the brave and revolutionary girls and women of Iran. And her lilting, catchy sing along "Piti Piti Na' arrive", written for Haiti post -earthquake, and sung now in the midst of horrific violence brought on by centuries of colonialism. i Fred has expanded his work to embrace the calling of ministry, and is active in Climate Activism. This is a rare appearance by Fred on zoom, singing new and old songs. And Betsy has recently become a Doula, and is supporting a pregnant asylum seeker from Haiti. Betsy leads community singing for healing and empowerment the second Thursday of each month, 6 -7:30 PM (PT).
