Part 2 of 3 Bill Wax interviews Allen Toussaint and Irma Thomas on Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise #25, Oct. 30, 2015. The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise family was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Allen Toussaint. This remarkable musician co-headlined the October New Orleans-themed LRBC 2015 cruise which also featured Buddy Guy, Irma Thomas, Marcia Ball and many others. In one of the last extended interviews with Allen Toussaint, LRBC was fortunate to have the opportunity to record an intimate conversation between Toussaint and Irma Thomas, moderated by former XM/Sirius Bluesville Program Director Bill Wax. About Allen Toussaint

American producer, songwriter, arranger, session pianist, solo artist, and label owner. Born on 14 January 1938 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Died on 10 November 2015 in Madrid, Spain of heart attack while on European tour. Active in New Orleans’ music industry since the late 1950s, he wrote, arranged and was the house producer with Minit, Instant Records (6), and Alon.
