Track 5 from their sixteenth album "Tattoo You" released in 1981 copyright Rolling Stones Records. The band's worldwide popularity was renewed with the release of "Some Girls" in 1978 and continued to grow with their follow-up "Emotional Rescue." Since Mick and Keith weren't getting along at the time, for this album the band decided to take advantage of their collection of unreleased songs they had banked in the vault from four recording sessions throughout the Seventies. New sessions were booked at Pathe Marconi Studios in Paris over eight months to complete some songs that were only fragments and required a lot more work. "Tops" and "Waiting on a Friend" were originally written during the sessions for "Goats Head Soup" in 1973 when Mick Taylor was the rhythm guitarist. "Start Me Up" and "Hang Fire" were originally conceived during the "Some Girls" sessions. The album was another huge critical and commercial success and it topped the Billboard album chart for nine weeks. Many critics appreciated its return to classic Stones rock 'n' roll rather than the disco-influenced style of their more recent projects and it featured an impressive guest list of artists the band had recorded with over the years. The album cover design won the Grammy for Best Album Package. It received excellent reviews and became their second biggest-selling release after "Some Girls." It reached No. 8 in Japan, No. 7 in Finland, No. 3 in Germany, Italy, Norway and Sweden, No. 2 in Austria, Spain and the U.K. and No. 1 in Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, the U.S. and Canada. It was certified Gold in Japan, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the U.K., Platinum in New Zealand, 2X Platinum in Australia and 4X Platinum in the U.S. and Canada. Ian Andrew Robert Stewart (18 July 1938 – 12 December 1985) was a Scottish keyboardist and co-founder of the Rolling Stones. He was removed from the lineup in May 1963 at the request of manager Andrew Loog Oldham who felt he did not fit the band's image. He remained as road manager and pianist for over two decades until his death, and was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with the rest of the band in 1989.
