Lucky Me - Patrick Sky Cover by Boot Leg
This is me doing "Lucky Me", a "delta blues" song written by Patrick Sky. The song was first released as a single record in 1970. Its tune was based on the traditional blues song, "Make Me a Pallet on Your Floor". Folk veteran Pat Sky was mentored by Mississippi John Hurt in the early 60's, so his more skilled at guitar playing than most singer-songwriters from the Greenwich folk music scene. His lyrics, on the other hand, have a very similar style with John Prine - simple, goofy, and clever. Though it's always been one of my favorite Pat Sky song, I've just began to learn it this morning. The guitar licks are a bit too hard to play for me. Guess I'll have to practise more in order to play it more fluently!
