Deborah Cox, born on July 13, 1974, is a versatile Canadian artist known for her prowess as a singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer. Hailing from Toronto, her journey began at a young age when she started performing in television commercials at 12. As a teenager, she showcased her talent in various talent competitions, eventually landing a role as a backing vocalist for Celine Dion. In 1994, Cox made a pivotal move to the United States and caught the attention of music mogul Clive Davis, leading to her signing with Arista Records. The following year, she released her self-titled debut album. Her sophomore effort, ""One Wish"" (1998), achieved platinum status in the U.S. and featured the immensely successful crossover single ""Nobody's Supposed to Be Here."" This track became a major hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number two and maintaining that position for an impressive eight consecutive weeks. Transitioning to J Records for her third studio album ""The Morning After"" (2002), Cox continued to demonstrate her musical talent, although with moderate commercial success. She expanded her artistic horizons by venturing into acting during the 2000s. Her film debut came in the Canadian drama ""Love Come Down"" (2000), and she later showcased her acting skills on the Broadway stage in the titular role of the musical ""Aida"" in 2004. Cox's artistic endeavors continued to diversify, with appearances in various films and musical productions, including ""Jekyll & Hyde"" and the musical adaptation of ""The Bodyguard."" Notably, her albums ""Destination Moon"" (2007) and ""The Promise"" (2008) were released through her independent record label, Deco Recording Group. Throughout her career, Cox has consistently made an impact on the dance music scene. Her single ""Let the World Be Ours Tonight"" reached number one on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart, marking her 13th chart-topper over three decades. In recognition of her influence in the genre, Billboard ranked her 23rd on its list of the Greatest of All Time Top Dance Club Artists in 2016. Watch more TMF videos ► https://bit.ly/MoreTMF Join us.
