Pure Prairie League "Amie"- RARE "Fiddle Track" Mono Mix (1972).mp4

OK all you "hardcore dyed-in-the-wool" Pure Prairie League fanatics! This is the YouTube "World Premiere" of the rarest-of-the-rare variants direct from the "cutting room floor" of RCA Recording Studios Toronto, Ontario, Canada where, in 1972, PPL cut the tracks for their RCA Records 1972 album, "Bustin' Out." I, Dan Schear, worked briefly at RCA Toronto as a Studio Tech & Assistant Mixer in late '72-early '73 eventually getting deported for working in Canada as an illegal immigrant (I'm a USA citizen)! Since I had access to RCA's Master Tape Storage Vault, one evening I found an 8-track "Safety Master" containing a highly edited version of PPL's anthemic hit "Amie" engineered by Senior Mixer, Mark Smith. I proceeded to do my own mixdown of "Amie" just for fun & good practice when I discovered the "Fiddle Track" that I'd never heard before. All the vocals were pre-mixed on this 8-track master to two tracks, but the fiddle was all alone on its own separate track. The only tape machine I had access to was a monaural Ampex, so that's why this mix is mono. Also, I apologize for not paying closer attention to the "hard-knee" compression that resulted from me not properly adjusting the UREI compressor/limiter. By the way, three members of my late '60's hard rock band, "East Orange Express" from Cincinnati became members of PPL, two of whom, drummer Billy Hinds & the now late keyboardist Mike Connor, performed on the "Bustin' Out" recording sessions.
