BluesBox Cajun Pinegrove Blues
A rare video of Balfa Toujours, with Dirk Powell playing the BluesBox pitch bending accordion, Kevin Wimmer on fiddle, Christine Balfa on guitar, and Ganey Arsemont on bass. This unrehearsed video is the first stage appearance of the BluesBox, at the Strawberry Park Cajun and Zydeco festival, in Preston, CT., June 1998, using an early prototype of the instrument with a keyboard that has been largely improved to be more controllable by the musician. Wimme Saari is a Finnish Sami yoiker. Wimme Saari combines traditional Sami singing with his own improvisations, usually to a techno-ambient accompaniment by members of Finnish electronic group RinneRadio. Wimme has also appeared on the albums of other bands or musicians, for instance Hedningarna, Nits or Hector Zazou.
