"Goin' Down Slow" is a blues song written by James "St. Louis Jimmy" Oden and popularized by Mance Lipscomb, a Texas blues musician. Lipscomb recorded the song in 1960 as part of his album "Texas Sharecropper and Songster". The song is a slow-paced, emotive performance featuring Lipscomb's fingerpicking guitar style and powerful vocals. It is considered a classic of the Texas blues genre and has been covered by many other blues and rock musicians. Mance Lipscomb was an American blues singer, guitarist, and songster. He was born in 1895 and died in 1976. He was born in Texas and began playing music in the early 1920s. He was known for his fingerpicking guitar style and his deep, rich vocals. About Mance Lipscomb

American blues guitarist, singer and songster. He was born near Navasota, Texas on April 09, 1895. Took the name Mance (short for emancipation) from a friend of his oldest brother, Charlie as a young man. Died January 30, 1976 in Navasota, Texas after suffering a stroke two years prior.
