Hello, my fellow Banksians!! In honour of a close friend of mine's birthday today, I bring you an interesting interview from 2017. Happy birthday, Diiey!! This one here got by me at that time and I didn't even know it existed until a few months back. Tony is the special guest on the final episode of Rick Wakeman's Key to Keys. As part of Radio 2's 'Rock On 2' day Rick Wakeman presents Rick Wakeman's Key to Keys in Rock celebrating some of the most famous rock keyboard riffs and some of the best rock keyboard players. Rick also chats to composer, songwriter, keyboardist, and a founder member of Genesis, Tony Banks. Tony talks about his first school bands, playing keyboards for Genesis, and about his solo work and the challenges of working with an orchestra.
About Tony Banks
Anthony George Banks (born 27 March 1950) is an English musician primarily known as the keyboardist and founding member of the rock band Genesis. Banks is also a prolific solo artist, releasing six solo studio albums that range through progressive rock, pop, and classical music. Banks co-founded Genesis in 1967 while studying at Charterhouse.
