The CRAZY story behind the song "eyes" by The Honeycombs is interesting. In 1965, The Honeycombs’ song "Eyes" was shockingly banned due to its controversial lyrics. The band, who had achieved success with their hit “Have I The Right?” were on top of the music scene, with Honey Lantree breaking barriers as a female drummer. Despite their popularity, the song’s intense, experimental sound, combined with lyrics suggesting the search for homosexual partners in gay bars, was too bold for the time. Produced by Joe Meek, whose innovative approach to music often pushed boundaries, "Eyes" became one of the most controversial tracks of the era, leading to its ban.

Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner (born 2 October 1951), known as Sting, is an English musician and actor. He was the frontman, principal songwriter and bassist for the rock band the Police from 1977 until their break-up in 1986. He launched a solo career in 1985 and has included elements of rock, jazz, reggae, classical, new-age, and worldbeat in his music.
