🎸 What really happened inside the world’s first rock supergroup? In this powerful and emotional episode, Malcolm Bruce — son of the legendary Jack Bruce of Cream — opens up to Rob Cass about the band that changed music forever. From the explosive formation of Cream with Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker, to the backstage fights, wild stories, and the deep influence they had on Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and beyond, Malcolm gives us a front-row seat to rock history. 🤯🔥 👨‍👦 Malcolm doesn’t just tell his father’s story — he carries the torch. As a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and the driving force behind Sons of Cream, Malcolm shares what it’s like to grow up as the son of one of rock’s greatest bassists, ranked #8 by Rolling Stone and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He recalls wild moments with Jack, including heroin struggles, unlikely prison dinners with superfans, and how Ginger Baker broke down in tears at the funeral. Plus, stories of Jack almost forming a band with Jimi Hendrix, and why he thought Pink Floyd “sucked” — even though they formed after a Cream gig. 🎤🎶 🌍 From Cream’s legacy to Malcolm’s own bold creative path — touring with legends, composing orchestral works, and producing the Heavenly Cream sessions — this episode is a masterclass in music, family, and resilience. If you’ve ever felt the magic of “White Room” or “Sunshine of Your Love,” don’t miss this deep dive into the soul of rock history — told by the son who lived it, and is now reshaping it. ⚡👁️‍🗨️ ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🕒 CHAPTERS 00:00 Episode recap 00:00 Malcolm Bruce plays a few of his favorite guitar riffs 01:31 Ginger found Jack Bruce sleeping on someone’s sofa 05:21 The beginning of modern rock music 10:58 Sons of Cream playing live at the dopeYEAH club 13:08 Meeting Eric Clapton and forming Cream 17:59 Without Cream, there would be no Pink Floyd 24:20 From Lou Reed and Bowie to Abbey Road 29:26 Giving it everything right to the very end 37:43 Jack Bruce’s Battle with Heroin Addiction 41:55 "The Tony Williams Lifetime" was Jack Bruce’s favorite era 49:52 Being the son of someone THAT famous 54:08 Sons of Cream 01:00:56 Ginger Baker was in a flood of tears at Jack Bruce’s funeral 01:04:40 Playing with Dennis Chambers, Andy Summers — and almost with Hendrix too 01:08:23 Artists should be able to write anything 01:11:55 You’ve got to be tough to do this job 01:18:21 Orange strings are hard to play ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🎧 Don’t forget to: 👍 Like 🔔 Subscribe 💬 Comment 📲 Share STAY TUNED ON SOCIALS: https://instagram.com/dopeyeah.talk https://www.tiktok.com/@dopeyeahtalk?_t=8pWkf42Rm9h&_r=1 https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61563840578898 https://x.com/dopeYEAHtalk
