Dalla was a band specialising in traditional Cornish music who were active from the late 1990s until about 2017. They were known mainly for their festival and concert performances, but until about 2013 also played music for Cornish Nos Lowen dance nights. After this, they used the name 'Skillywidden' when playing as a dance band. Skillywidden continues to be one of the main Nos Lowen dance bands.

This 2019 footage of ITZY "DALLA DALLA" and EVERGLOW "FIRST" dance performance by CRIMSON is a rare gem in the K-pop landscape, offering a unique glimpse into the world of Australian K-pop enthusiasts. At the time this was filmed, ITZY had just burst onto the scene with their debut single "DALLA DALLA", a genre-bending fusion of hip-hop and electronic elements that sent shockwaves through the music industry.
CRIMSON, a group of students from various schools in Australia, had been training for years to perfect their K-pop choreography. This performance at IMI Kpop Live 2 marked their first time performing as a group, and it's clear they were still finding their footing. Despite the challenges of juggling end-of-year school assessments and HSC exams, CRIMSON managed to come together in just two weeks to deliver an impressive rendition of ITZY's hit single.
What makes this footage significant is not only its rarity but also the context in which it was created. In 2019, K-pop was still a relatively niche interest in Australia, with few groups or artists actively promoting their music and performances outside of online communities. CRIMSON's performance at IMI Kpop Live 2 was one of the first times Australian fans had seen such a high-energy dance routine featuring K-pop hits.
The six dancers who make up CRIMSON - Yutong, Annabel, Alice, Codi, Nicole, Shania, and Ronni - are all recognizable figures in the Australian K-pop scene. Each has their own unique style and flair, which is evident even in this early performance. Their dedication to mastering the intricate choreography of ITZY's "DALLA DALLA" is admirable, especially considering the short timeframe they had to prepare.
This footage also highlights the importance of online communities in promoting K-pop culture. CRIMSON's Instagram and TikTok accounts are filled with behind-the-scenes content, sneak peeks, and fan engagement. Their enthusiasm and passion for K-pop have inspired countless others to join the community, creating a ripple effect that continues to grow.
Watching this performance will give viewers a glimpse into the early days of Australian K-pop fandom. It's clear that CRIMSON was just starting out, but their energy and dedication are infectious. As they dance through ITZY's "DALLA DALLA" and EVERGLOW's "FIRST", it becomes apparent that these students have a deep love for the music and culture.
The fact that this performance was captured by @imi.media adds to its significance. IMI Kpop Live 2 was an event that brought together fans from across Australia, providing a platform for enthusiasts like CRIMSON to showcase their talents. The footage serves as a time capsule of sorts, capturing the excitement and anticipation of K-pop's growing fanbase in Australia.
As viewers watch this performance, they'll be struck by the sheer enthusiasm and dedication of CRIMSON. It's clear that these students were driven by more than just a love for music - they had a vision to bring K-pop culture to their community. This footage is a testament to the power of online communities in promoting cultural exchange and artistic expression.
The final image that stays with viewers is one of energy, passion, and dedication. CRIMSON's performance may have been their first time on stage as a group, but it was by no means their last. As they continue to grow and evolve as artists, this footage serves as a reminder of the impact that K-pop can have on communities around the world.
