Drum Cover Thank You "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)" Song by Sly & the Family Stone "Thank You" is a 1969 song recorded by Sly and the Family Stone. The song was released as a double A-side single with "Everybody Is a Star", and in February 1970 it reached number one on both Billboard's soul singles chart — where it stayed for five weeks — and the Hot 100, where it stayed for two weeks. The single ranked No. 5 for the year on the soul chart. Sly and the Family Stone was an American band formed in San Francisco, California, in 1966 and active until 1983. Their work, which blended elements of funk, soul, psychedelic rock, gospel, and R&B, became a pivotal influence on subsequent American popular music. Their core line-up was led by singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Sly Stone, and included Stone's siblings Freddie Stone (guitar, vocals) and Rose Stone (keyboard, vocals) alongside Cynthia Robinson (trumpet, vocals), Greg Errico (drums), Jerry Martini (saxophone), and Larry Graham (bass, vocals). The band was the first major American rock group to have a racially integrated, mixed-gender lineup. Sly and the Family Stone was an influential American band formed in 1966, known for blending funk, soul, rock, and psychedelic music. They are celebrated for their groundbreaking sound and hits like "Dance to the Music" and "Everyday People," which helped shape the landscape of popular music.
