Filmed at Elliott and on Newcastle Waters Station, Alice Springs and surrounds, Northern Territory, Australia. Elliott is a song about home. It’s about the importance of family, particularly to the indigenous people, however, at its core, Elliott is about Janet Sandy - Gregory, the Mother of Stuart Joel Nuggett and the last Female Jingili elder to speak, read and write in the Jingili language. Jingili is slowly being lost to history and the song was also written in an attempt to remind not only Australians of this important part of our heritage, it was also Stuart and Janet’s plea to their Jingili brothers and sisters, Aunties and Uncles, please, don’t lose our language, learn it, maintain it and share our story. The broader message with the song Elliott, is Australia simply can't afford to lose any of its indigenous languages. We want to thank Janet Gregory for her support and her guidance and knowledge of the Jingili language and Elliott in this project.
