Shoulder Impingement? 2 Things You're Missing
Are you dealing with a pinching pain in your shoulder and been told you have shoulder impingement? Let’s talk about 2 things that usually get ignored, but can drastically help your recovery. The first is the Latissimus Dorsi muscle and how it attaches to the front of the arm. The second is the ability of your arm to glide down in the shoulder socket. A tight lat can roll the arm forward and a tight capsule can cause pinching overhead and the shoulder to shrug up. Our first exercise to fix this trains your overhead motion with the arms externally rotated. This helps stretch the lat near the top and can decreasing that pinching pain. Make sure to keep those palms facing you. Second we are using a resistance band to improve the inferior glide of the humerus. As you lean forward the band helps the arm to glide down in the socket, stretching the capsule and decreasing compression overhead Need to fix you painful shoulders?
