Papa San ~ Feelings Come Again (Live/c.c.)

Papa San came into this world as Tyrone Thompson in Spanish Town, Jamaica on 1st July 1967. He spent his early years in Spanish Town, and began his career with the local Small Axe and Creation sound systems. He is often regarded as Jamaica's fastest talking DJs as demonstrated on his debut releases ‘Animal Party’ which led to the album of the same name and ‘Talking Parrot.’ He followed these with a series of hits for producers such as Bunny Lee, Prince Jazzbo, King Tubby and King Jammy. Following these hits he also recorded in London and New York before returning to Jamaica. He was subsequently reunited with Lady G with whom he had also performed on the Creation Sound in Spanish Town. The duo enjoyed a notable hit with the wonderful ‘Round Table Talk’ and `Legal Rights', which led to sessions with Maurice Johnson, Donovan Germaine, the late Robert Dixon and King Jammy’s son, John John. He followed these with two self productions namely ‘Strange’ and ‘Maddy Maddy Cry’. He continued to record for a number of producers releasing a number of albums throughout this time including Fire Inna Dancehall and Strange (1991), Pray Fi Dem and Rough Cut (1992) alongside In Action (1993). Sadly at this time he brother Patrick who performed as the DJ Dirtsman was shot by four gunmen in December 1993. In 1997 he turned to Christianity and relished a series of Gospel Dancehall Hits including the albums, Victory (1999), God And I (2003), Real And Personal (2010). In 2011 he moved to Florida and in 2013 he featured on Church Clothes with the Christian Hip Hop artist Devaughan Moore better known as LeCrae, and topped the Billboard reggae chart a year later with `One Blood.'
