Pre-save: https://found.ee/uYfOy On February 24th, 2022, the breaking news shocked the world. The capital of Ukraine was under missile attacks. To work on a new song in the studio, to do the week's procurement of food products were in my plans for that day. And no one could have imagined that the rockets would land in the central part of Kyiv and near my home. Since the warning siren sounded, every minute of suspense seemed like forever. After dealing with fear and anxiety, I started to create a song. The idea of the lyrics, music, and production itself had come into my mind long before the conflict arose, which inspired me to work on and develop the particular song. I found the strength and confidence to carry on being surrounded by my fans' support, donations, and care. Food, water, and medicines became unavailable to people during the first weeks of the conflict because grocery houses, supermarkets, and pharmacies were closed. Later on, I managed to prepare the necessary supplies. I always had my "alarming suitcase" packed, which contained the set of things prepared in advance in case of an emergency. I stayed inside for months, losing touch with reality by playing my guitar, though being interrupted by explosions several times during the day and night. There was a time when all my thoughts and worries were with my relatives and grandmother, who was going through a tragedy in Mariupol, surviving during the military actions but passing away afterward. Finding the team for the song During the time I was building my team for the song, we had massive missile and kamikaze drone attacks, which led to a complete blackout. You might have seen the shots of Kyiv in absolute darkness, as if the city lay desolated, though I know the candle shined in every house, gathering the whole family around the dinner. In the moments when I had light and an Internet connection, I searched the entire world to find the right people for the recording. In Chicago, I found very talented female drummer Lori Peters, former drummer of Skillet band, a real warrior who overcame cancer in a personal fight. She set the basis for the song. Nashville presented me with a great guitarist Andrew Andrew Timothy, who conveyed the ethnic Native Americans feel in the recording. Maks Simchenko added a beautiful sound design embellishing the song and the vocal, recorded in Kyiv. Austin Deptula brilliantly mixed it all in Texas, and Adam Grover from Nashville added the last mastering sparks and sound decoration. As a result of long searches, hard work, and the difficulties overcome, I realized that "In the darkest skies, we see the brightest stars. Just like the darkest times showcase the brightest people, who can be seen halfway across the world." Now you know the story of the song creation. I’ll be ready to share it with you on July 1st. But for now, Pre-save it and be ready to share, stream when it’s out.
