Blink 182 vs Sum 41 - Why were Blink-182 more popular & successful than Sum 41 ?

Why were Blink 182 bigger than Sum 41 ? Blink 182 have been more successful than Sum 41 over the last 20 years ? Whilst Sum 41 have a very successful career across the punk rock / pop-punk / rock radio scene, sell out great venues, produce well received albums & play festivals, there is no arguing that the most successful pop-punk / punk rock band over the last 25 years is Blink 182 .. considering how many pop punk & punk rock bands they've inspired, how many festivals they've headlined, how well their albums do.
