Kyrie - One Man Band Geek Cover

StudioLiveyoutube

This is my cover of Kyrie by Mr. Mister. I got to see Richard Page play this live with Ringo and the All Stars and it was amazing! I just moved into a new studio, and like I did with the last studio, here's a new one man band cover song to Christen the space. If you want to see the video I did to Christen the old studio, go here: https://youtu.be/nmExtL-UOKM I'd like to thank these awesome companies for help with making this video possible: Bose - @Bose Professional Line 6 - @Line 6 Movies Roland - @RolandChannel Audio Technica - @Audio-Technica USA Nvidia - @NVIDIA GeForce Geek Speak: For the drums, I used the Roland TD-11 kit to record MIDI into Pro Tools. The sounds are coming from Native Instruments Abbey Road 80's drummer. I'm also triggering a second snare from NI Battery. While recording the drums I used the Bose L1 Pro Portable for monitoring which was awesome because I could actually feel what I was playing. I think the original drum part might have had 16ths on the hi hat, but I changed it to 8ths on account of my lame drumming lol. The bass guitar is a Music Man Sterling recorded through a Universal Audio 4710D then processed with various Waves and Avid plugins. I also doubled the bass track in the choruses and used a NI Guitar Rig bass synth effect. All the guitar tracks were recorded through the Line 6 Helix. I used the US Deluxe for the clean sound and the Solo Lead OD for the dirty sound. The clean guitar is a Fender Road Worn 50's strat with DiMarzio pickups. The dirty guitar is an Ernie Ball Music Man Steve Morse Y2D with DiMarzio pickups. There's quite a bit of synth sequencing going on here. I tried my best to show some of it on screen. For the synth sounds I used a lot of the Roland Cloud instruments. I also used some stuff from IK Multimedia Sampletank, NI Kontakt and Avid Xpand. The live keyboard parts were played on the Roland FA-06. Vocals were recorded with an Audio Technica AT-4047MP into an SSL Alpha channel preamp. Vocal effects are mainly coming from that new Waves CLA Epic plugin which worked incredibly well for this. There are a significant amount of vocal overdubs on this from multiple takes. I don't know how Richard Page does it. He's super-human. For headphones, I'm using Audio Technica ATH-M50. The DAW is Pro Tools. I'm running a Dell Xeon PC equipped with an NVIDIA RTX 3090. Just to give you an idea about how crazy the 3090 is, this entire video rendered in under 3 minutes. I'm using a MOTU 1248 interface with Genelec 8040 speakers. I used Zoom Q2n cameras with Adobe Premiere Pro for editing. Thanks to my buddy Ray Magnuski for suggesting this song. Thanks to Ann Marie Nacchio for straightening my voice out to the point where I could actually sing this song. Thanks to Andy Ascolese and John Castellano for checking my mixes and video edits. The Band Geeks will return soon! We have some awesome stuff coming your way! #bandgeek #mrmister #coversong #kyrie #bose #bosepro #boseprofessional #l1pro #portablelinearray #portablepa #PA #linearray #newproduct #guitarplayer #guitarist #keyboardist #rolandfamily #rolandartists
