John Hardy - Ernest V. Stoneman Okeh 7011-B Asheville, N.C. August 27, 1925 Here's a rare bird! From Grayson County Virginia to Asheville to the Country Music Hall of Fame, Ernest Stoneman left quite the legacy. Here is his first recording of John Hardy as released on a specialized 12" acoustic 78. This version features different lyrics from his later recording of the same piece with the Sweet Brothers and a more detailed plot line than most. Y'all enjoy! I do not own the rights to this video.
