Rare live performance by Deep Cotton
Enjoy this 1997 performance by Chicago musical group Deep Cotton, featuring guitar virtuoso Stan Skibby and an energetic lead singer known simply as Phoenix. I caught this fun show on Aug. 29, 1997, at the On The Waterfront festival in Rockford, Ill. It was so memorable that I went back years later and tracked down this video. Don't mind the minor editing snafus. Just turn up the volume and jam to these great songs. James Brown, Sly & the Family Stone, Kool & the Gang -- it's all here. Plus a few tasty originals. Unfortunately, Deep Cotton did not stay together for very long. So this show is, indeed, a rarity. I hope you enjoy it.
